THE LOWDOWN
MagSafe opened up a whole new world of design and functional opportunities during my time overseeing industrial design of the mophie brand. Having worked with apple to launch the original Qi charging pad with the iPhone 8. This was the next big step in charging convenience.
We explored everything from docks, to magnetically attached batteries, to portable solutions for travel. One of the most interesting ideas was a MagSafe battery with a 1/4-20 mount embedded to allow content creators to have their sessions last longer without plugging into a wall.

To get to the perfect experience, we explored dozens and dozens of concepts, form factors, orientations and ways people would want to interact with our charging products.
Power for Creators
The mophie Snap+ Powerstation was mophie’s first product for creators. Great for consuming content, but even better with specific features for creating it. The integrated tripod socket makes it easy to use for longer streaming or recording sessions, the stand makes it easy to quickly set up for content on the go and ultimately allows for extended creation sessions without losing battery.
